The Center for the Study of Development Strategies provides a forum at Columbia to support rigorous field based research on major questions in the political economy of development. Research at the center focuses on democracy and governance, peacebuilding, and aid effectiveness. The center is supported by the Earth Institute, ISERP, and the political science department at Columbia.
CSDS provides a focal point for field-based research on the political economy of development at Columbia University. The core focus will be on field experimental approaches, micro studies and empirical work with strong identification strategies that address topics on democracy and governance, peacebuilding, and aid effectiveness.
