Michael Steinberg joined Columbia University as associate ombuds officer in April 2015. He is an experienced mediator and a licensed attorney in New York and Massachusetts. Prior to his work as an ombuds, he had a mediation practice based in New York City focusing on business and family disputes. Mr. Steinberg was also on staff at the Harvard Mediation Program at Harvard Law School, where he mediated a wide variety of cases, including complex business, family, and housing disputes. He is a graduate of Connecticut College and Northeastern University School of Law. Since joining Columbia Michael has become a member of the International Ombudsman Association.
